第80回 白トリュフ国際見本市 開催/ 80th Alba International White Truffle Fair

白トリュフ国際見本市が、今年も10/9～11/14まで開催されました。80周年ということで、なんと第一回目は、1929年からというイタリアはピエモンテ州、アルバの伝統行事となっています。
ここでは中に入ると、首に掛けられる袋に入ったワイングラスをもらいます。そこからはトリュフの香が会場いっぱいに広がり、
たくさんの業者が新鮮なトリュフを販売しています。同じく会場内には一緒にサラミ、チーズ、パスタなども販売されています。もちろんもらったワイングラスで、中のバーや、すべてのワインのブースでテイスティングができるので、知らず知らずのうちにワインがすすんでしまう、究極のイタリア食材のお祭りのようでした。
白トリュフは、卓球ボールくらいの大きさが標準でで、塊が大きければ値段はどんどん高くなり、2kgの塊で25万円というのもありました。
トリュフは鮮度おちると香りも落ちてしまうため、採れたてであればあるほどいい香りがします。保存は冷蔵庫でいれても1週間ぐらいまでしかもたず、なかなか日本へ持ち帰るのは困難な食材です。

The Truffle Fair celebrates 80 years in Alba, Piedmont. In Alba, the International White Truffle Fair is not just an even to be celebrated: it’s the actual synthesis of Alba essence, enclosed in its “grey diamond.”
At the entrance of the fair, you’ll get a wine glass in a bag you can dangle around your neck. And as soon as you enter to the market, you’ll be covered with the aroma of truffle. There’re lots of truffle hunters and shops are selling the fresh-caught truffles, along with salami shops, cheese shops, and of course, winery shops. Basically you can taste everything before you buy, so you don’t notice how much you drink or eat in this fair.
The truffles in the market were traded mainly the size of ping-pong ball. The bigger the size it gets, the more expensive on prices, such like 2kg of chunk was selling around 2,000 euro.
Truffle is not good for travelling long distance due to strength of aroma is proportional to the freshness of the truffle. It could only be good for a week even kept in refrigerator.
